A fully integrated home designed around the family
For this family home in Cheshire we designed, specified and installed a fully integrated home system combining lighting, audio and visual distribution, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, security and access control all under the simple and intuitive user interfaces of a Crestron Home control system . The project took place over a period of around 2 years and we were delighted to win numerous awards for the scheme.

The details
We were brought in to provide a fully integrated home as part of a new build development with a focus on a seamless user experience and value for money. The property is a family home and whilst the clients were not big tech users, they wanted to make sure they were future proofing by building technology into the fabric of their home and making the most of all the technologies available.
Some of the standout features of the project were the Home Cinema, the Gym & Spa Facilities, the DALI controlled lighting scheme and the beautiful new Alisse range of keypads from Lutron.

To further improve the sound in a home cinema or media room we can look at using acoustic materials to optimise the audio quality experienced by the viewer.
Lutron Lighting
The lighting control is handled by a Lutron Homeworks QSX system with over 300 DALI ballasts making up 211 circuits and controlled by 65 Alisse keypads. We programmed scenes for every room for use at different times of day which are ‘bright’ ‘relaxed’ and ‘low’ and also specific scenes required for rooms such as ‘cooking’ in the kitchen or ‘shower’ in the bathrooms. We have some very clever conditional programming on all of the Lutron keypads which allows for a simple on/off button to be the only button needed in most cases as it recalls the scenes based on what time it is.
Crestron Home
For this project the client did not have any niche requirements or a demanding list of desired functionality which made the Crestron Home platform an obvious choice for control system. We also added an additional custom processor so that we could maintain a lot of the clever automations and integrations that we offer to our custom Crestron clients. For the user interfaces we installed a combination of on wall touch screens and hand-held remote controls as well as apps for all of their phones and tablets.
Home Cinema
The Cinema is a 7.2.2 Dolby Atmos 4K Room with a Sony projector and acoustically transparent screen. The front speaker array is made up of three Artcoustic 8-4 speakers for the LCR channels and two Sub 3 subwoofers. The rear and side channels are Artcoustic Target SL's colour matched to the interior paint and the Atmos overhead channels are SL Architect 21s also colour matched. The processing and amplification is handled by an Anthem MRX1140 AVR and the subwoofers are powered by the Artcoustic PDA 1000.
